Utilizing the natural light and architecture of their space, Osteria Oggie is a bright, light-filled space with a focus on repetition and simple materiality.

Balancing traditional Italian design with the very on-trend pastel color story, the interior feels both fresh and light but also rooted in history and simplicity. The minimalist and pure material palate helps balance the geometric floors and repetition of curves. Attention to detail within such a simplified space elevates the interior and creates a sense of richness and depth.

Barchetta

One of the newest openings in NYC is Barchetta, an intimate italian seafood spot. Vintage and nautical touches fill the main dining space and mezzanine exuding a casual warmth throughout the space.

Danish chairs and custom tables made from found ceiling trusses live alongside abstract impressionist art and vintage light fixtures. The overall space is intimate and casual while maintaining a level of refinement through a natural color scheme and abundance of texture.

Rozzi's Italian Canteen

Rozzi's is an italian eatery with a focus on fresh, modern cuisine. The interior of the space reflects the menu and features a modern, and vibrant interior.

Utilizing a limited color and material palate allows the space to come together easily while the added typography and wording adds an additional creative element.

I love the use of concrete tiles to tie the yellow and grey through the space while the addition of bookcases adds a homey element emphasizing the desire for diners to feel at ease within the space.

The use of subway tiles and wood all keeps the space on trend and hip but I love that they added a few new elements to make the space truly unique and fresh.

Formerly a lumber warehouse in the heart of NOHO, this urban space has been transformed into an italian restaurant and deli. serving sandwiches towards the front and breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the rear, the space is raw, romantic, and full of texture.

Having just opened this past Wednesday, Balena is easily one of the most anticipated opening in Chicago. With the sneak peak videos, take out pizza, and Karen Herold behind the wheel for design (Girl & the Goat), expectations where high and murmurs of what it would look like were everywhere.
The rustic and warm interior perfectly suits the rustic italian fare being presented. With a touch of vintage and warm wood beams and shelving, the space feels like it could be straight out of Italy, while the modern touches and metal bar surround help remind you of it's Chicago local.
