Utilizing the natural light and architecture of their space, Osteria Oggie is a bright, light-filled space with a focus on repetition and simple materiality. 




Balancing traditional Italian design with the very on-trend pastel color story, the interior feels both fresh and light but also rooted in history and simplicity. The minimalist and pure material palate helps balance the geometric floors and repetition of curves. Attention to detail within such a simplified space elevates the interior and creates a sense of richness and depth.

Sight Glass




Name: Sight Glass
Location: San Francisco

My love for coffee and well designed coffee shops can easily be traced back to San Francisco. With new shops and roasters opening up daily, the coffee scene there is exciting and second to none. The coffee scene in Chicago could use a little work. With everyone brewing Metropolis or Intelligentisia, it's been refreshing to see Stumptown, Bow & Truss, and La Colombe enter the mix but it still lacks the local, small batch roasting you see everywhere out West. Sight Glass is just one of the many well designed roasters opening up all around SF and the interior is just as beautiful as their art. With a double story space outfitted with exposed wood beams, metal stools, and curved coffee bar, the space is industrial, warm and exciting.




Large tables, exposed beams and even light from skylights make the second floor a comfortable place for a cup of coffee. Sightglass Coffee company took the interior of a nondescript warehouse on 7th Street in San Francisco, Calif. and reinvented it with interlocking levels and renovations.

Coming Soon: The Nomad Hotel

Name: The Nomad Hotel

Set to open early this year, The Nomad Hotel, opening up on Broadway & 28th, is much anticipated among design-savy travelers. The hotel will feature two restaurants, a lounge, and a seasonal rooftop terrace. The food program will be run by Daniel Humm & Will Guidara who also run Eleven Madison Park.

A colorful treat; The Pantone® Hotel

Name: Pantone® Hotel
Location: Brussels, Belgium
Designer: Michel Penneman & Olivier Hannaert

I have yet to meet a designer who doesn't love Pantone®. The color standard for almost all creative fields, their iconic branding has established a loyalty in even the most color-phobic among us. In the past few years, Pantone has done an excellent job at not only remaining relevant, but also main stream and desirable. The product design that has come out in full force as of recent, has established a renewed love within me and I was overjoyed to see an entire space dedicated to the love of color and color theory.




Each room and floor is themed based on color. Guests can choose the color or emotion they would like to experience and will receive a unique space catered to that very color. 




Besides the rooms, the public spaces throughout the hotel are also coated in intense, saturated colors.

Commercial Interiors- Lazaro Rosa Violan

While reading my google reader this morning I happened upon a beautiful image of a cafe located in Spain. I had to learn more about the man who created this wonderful space so I headed over to his website and came to a treasure trove of beautiful spaces! Most of his work is restaurants and cafes with a handful of hotels and retail thrown into the mix. I love the masculine and intimate feel of many of his spaces and I also adore the use of traditional, natural materials pairing up with modern and clean pieces.
