Picnic

Name: Picnic
Location: Paris (Concept; Not Built)
Design: Studio Ko

Picnic, a concept restaurant created in Paris showcases how minimalist design, paired with bold pattern, can create a vibrant and fun experience.

Using worn wood and unadorned walls allows the patterns to be the star. By keeping the patterns all geometric in nature, ties the multiple elements together create a bit of harmony within the space.

Kiosk

Name: Kiosk
Location: Strasbourg, France

Kiosk was created based on the idea that everyone has a favorite little diner. One that is small and comfortable and makes you want to return time after time.
With touches of mid century modern, Kiosk puts a fresh spin on the classic concept.

The use of butcher block and blond wood helps balance the small space While the globe pendants and curved lines evoke the classic mid century modern appeal.

Mama Shelter

Name: Mama Shelter
Location: Paris
Designer: Philippe Stark

While stumbling through my daily design blogs I can across a wonderful giveaway currently being hosted by Oh Happy Day!. While I would love the chance to win a trip to Paris, what I found most intriguing was the hotel the winner would be laying their head at. Mama Shelter was designed by Philippe Stark and was created inside a former garage. The feeling is hip, slightly brash, clean, modern with a large technological aspect (think iMac tv's in each room and panels & tables displaying photos & messages you upload).

La Corde a Linge

Name: La Corde a Linge (aka The Clothesline)
Location: La Petite France, in Strasbourg
Designer: My Beautiful (Design & Graphics)
What I Love: The beauty and simplicity they created in both the interior and branding of the space. The concept has been carried through well and doesn't over (or under.)whelm. The contrast between light and dark as well as the broad range of finishes and fixtures creates visual interest and wonderful texture. The entire space feels clean and calm, exactly what comes to mind when thinking about laundry.
