The Woodsman Market

Name: The Woodsman Market
Location: Portland, OR

Located right next to The Woodsman Tavern
(remember, the spot with the great kitsch collection of vintage landscapes?)
lies the artisan market and shop of the same owner. With the same attention to detail, the market feels as if it's been there forever.

With warm white subway tiles paired with dark grout, open shelving, a great period tile floor, and rustic pendants, the space feels warm and inviting.

Showcasing local artisan goods, the space is great stop for a quick mid day sandwich or to pick up that one special ingredient to finish a dish. The comfortable and approachable space showcases the local purveyors in a welcoming environment.

Knrdy

Name: Knrdy
Location: Budapest, Hungary
Design: Suto Interior Architects

Knrdy is an American steakhouse in Budapest that showcases clean, modern design.
The interior uses a monochromatic color scheme, clean lines and eye catching pieces to create a modern  space.

Upon entering, guests are walked past the cases displaying the selections of the days. These clean, cold displays are contrasted with warm wood shelves and a large graphic image of the New York skyline.

The open ceiling also showcases a modern, geometric patterns driving home the clean, straightforward lines used throughout the space.

Cochon

Name: Cochon & Cochon Butcher
Location: New Orleans

Did you know that 'cocoon' literally means pig? It's pretty fitting for this traditional cajun southern cuisine being served. After my quick trip to NOLA this past weekend, it is only fitting to post about one of the best restaurants in the city. Located in the central business district, the semi-industrial setting is fitting for the butchery and separate restaurant.  I love the exposed brick and bench seating in the restaurant and industrial open shelving in the butchery.

The Butcher Shop

Name: The Butcher Shop
Location: Boston, MA

Taking a cue from our post on Wednesday, I thought I would let you in on another space with a butcher shop component. The Butcher Shop, which is located in Boston, has some wonderful and highly practical details. The large  butcher block, industrial hooks, and rich wood floors give the space a rustic and historical feel. I enjoy that the center of the restaurant space is the over-sized butch block with glass sneeze guards. It helps to emphasize the purpose of the space and adds a casual, and hand crafted feel to the over all space.
