Yardbird

Name: Yardbird
Location: Miami Beach, FL
Design: 50 eggs group

A quintessentially "southern" restaurant, the interior speaks of their southern roots but firmly places them ahead of the curve in terms of design.

Yardbird created a fine balance between old and new. Using worn materials and antiques paired with tufted banquettes, light wood, and bistro-style chairs they kept the space open and bright while playing to their southern roots of warmth and hospitality.

I love the details in this space and find the basket pendants, burlap runners, and reclaimed wood wall perfectly situated for the environment and concept.

Double Dutch

Name:The Dutch NYC & The Dutch Miami
Location: New York & Miami
Design: Roman & Williams(NY)Meyer Davis Studio(Miami), Common Space(Graphics)

Today I'd love to share a double dose of Dutch. Originally designed for New York, the team behind The Dutch NY recently opened up it's second location, The Dutch Miami.
The New York location feels undeniably warmer, darker, and a bit more industrial while the Miami location is brighter, more streamlined, and a bit more contemporary. Both locations feel pulled together and represent seafood well but each does a great job incorporating its environment and location.

First, let's look at NY;

Soho House; Miami- Cecconi's Restaurant

Name: Cecconi's Italian Restaurant at the Soho House Miami Hotel
Location: Miami, FL
Designer: Mark Brudnizki & Nick Jones (soho house founder)

Miami has never ranked very high on our list of vacation destinations (that we absolutely must get to) but with the addition of the Soho House, We all may just need to reconsider! We love that they paired traditional furnishings with an outdoor-terraced setting. The result is romantic, fun and looks extremely inviting and relaxing. Our favorite design element in the space has to be the large chesterfield sofa that has been updated in a great fabric (Fun fact: It was upholstered by a company right here in Chicago!) and the almost ball-jar-esq pendants. We can only image how magical this space can become once the sun sets.
