The Potting Shed

Name: The Potting Shed (at the Grounds of Alexandria)
Location: Melbourne, Australia
Design: Acme & Co

It looks like The Grounds of Alexandria has been growing; both literally & figuratively. One of the newest additions to their already beautiful space (Check out photos of their roaster and cafe, here.) is The Potting Shed. This patio addition does a great job blending into the grounds and creates a welcoming retreat.

Check out the custom draft tower and more images after the jump-

As the name implies, The Potting Shed was designed to resemble just that. Warm shades of green, mismatched patio chairs, and potting tables all help tie the theme together and give you the impression you truly are enjoying your beverage in their garden.

We love the shed itself, with it's operable windows opening up to become the bar and custom draft tower. The brick backdrop and tractor stools add one more layer of warmth to this local watering hole.

Name: August
Location: New York

August is a lesson in rustic. Wide plank wood and cobblestone floors meet distressed walls peeling with layers of blues and greens. The entire space gives off a warm glow and feels entirely comfortable and rooted. The greenhouse like space located in the back of the restaurant makes you feel like you could be anywhere but NYC, creating an intimate experience and beckoning you to stay a while.

The Folly Bar

Name: The Folly Bar
Location: London
Designer: Drake & Morgans

As a themed restaurant and event space, The Folly offers a wonderfully bright, fun and modern space.  Set up with multiple dining areas the space also features small lounge areas, a florist shop and a small grab and go market. While the scale of the space seems a bit too large, it does seem that they were able to carry the same idea through to the entire space creating a cohesive thought.

Talula's Garden

Name: Talula's Garden
Location: Philadelphia, PA

I adore this rustic and charming spot located in the heart of downtown Philly! Recently named as one of the  best new restaurants for 2011 by Bon Appetit, I can see how this gem would easily win them over. The food is kept simple and fresh and all of the dishes are inspired by the farm and the garden. What truly won me over though, was the relaxed and intimate environment produced by the use of natural, raw-edged wood paired with concrete and lush vegetation. The mix produces a organic feel and the mis-matched chairs and strung lights add to casual and friendly environment. Despite your style preferences, the best restaurants and dining experiences truly are those where the food compliments the environment and the environment matches the food.

P.S.- Check out the stunning herringbone floors located on the interior of the space.
